Judith L. (Judi) Nocito is an experienced corporate executive and Senior Advisor, Compliance Strategists, a New York area based consulting firm specializing exclusively in organizational compliance and ethics solutions for a wide spectrum of private, public, governmental, academic and non-profit entities.
Judi is the former Director, Global Compliance for Alcoa, Inc., the leading metals sector company in the Fortune 500, with 61,000 employees operating in 30 countries across the world. As the head of Alcoa’s compliance and ethics program and function from 2009- 2013, Judi developed, implemented and enhanced critical elements of Alcoa’s compliance and ethics program, working with the businesses and resource units to embed them in all aspects of the Company’s operations. Elements of the enhanced compliance program implemented by Judi have been noted as “leading best practice” by some government regulators.
Prior to her leadership of Alcoa’s compliance function, Judi served as the Company’s Corporate Secretary and as a senior attorney in the Corporate Legal Department. She retired from Alcoa in 2013 after a distinguished 34-year corporate career that included, as Corporate Secretary, representing Alcoa and the Board of Directors in shareholder communications and overseeing corporate governance compliance and, as trusted legal advisor, counseling senior business leaders on significant legal matters and coordinating delivery of legal services to key business units covering all commercial matters, contracts, and regulatory issues. Alcoa’s management observed upon her retirement that Judi “served as a role model and leader who not only exemplifies Alcoa’s strong commitment to ethics and integrity, but also has led the programs that ensure Alcoans companywide understand and live our Values.”
Prior to joining Alcoa, Judi served in a judicial clerkship for the Pennsylvania Superior Court for two years.
Judi is a member of the Board of Directors of Girls Hope of Pittsburgh, Inc., a non-profit organization that helps young women who are at-risk, but academically capable, to realize their full potential. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the National Aviary. In addition, she is a member of the Dickinson School of Law of Pennsylvania State University’s Board of Counselors, an advisory group to the Dean and President of the University on matters relating to the law school. Prior to her retirement, Judi served as a member of the Conference Board’s Council on Corporate Compliance and Ethics. She is a member of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, the Ethics and Compliance Officers Association, the Corporate Counsel Association, the American Bar Association; and the Pennsylvania and District of Columbia Bar Associations.
Born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Judi graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s degree in political science. She obtained her Juris Doctor from The Dickinson School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review. Judi was the recipient of the Dickinson Distinguished Alumni Service Award in 2002.
